Lincoln W. and Dorothy I. Deihl
Lincoln and Dorothy Deihl moved to Manhattan in 1979 after teaching many years abroad. They called K-State their professional home. Both received their Ph.D's from Ohio State University; he is in business administration, and she is in anatomy and physiology.
They were married in 1954, and in 1955, they traveled to the Middle East and Africa, where Lincoln helped develop MBA programs and Business Administration departments for local universities and taught MBA students. Dorothy found local contracts when she could and took courses in Arabic studies, Egyptology, and regional cultural characteristics.
The Lincoln W. and Dorothy I. Deihl Endowed Fund was established in 2010 at the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation and has been a transforming gift to the community. Their endowment supports their designated interests in the arts, basic human needs, and youth in the Manhattan community. The purpose of the Deihl funds is to support programs that improve the quality of life in the City of Manhattan, Kansas, and the surrounding area. Their gift will leave a legacy to strengthen our community forever.
