Gary’s Retirement: A Farewell and Thank You
As we wrap up a successful 2024 year at the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, I want to thank you for your involvement and partnership with GMCF.
In the event you haven’t heard the news, I will be retiring from GMCF at the end of the 2024 year. After a fulfilling career working in the newspaper and magazine publishing industry, local municipal government, and, most recently, a community foundation – it’s time for the next chapter in my life journey. I’m filled with gratitude for the incredible individuals, families, generous donors, and professional advisors with whom I’ve met and had the privilege to work with. I value the friendships and relationships developed and will remain engaged in following the good work of the Foundation.
“Gary has served exemplary at GMCF and is a valued team member as Director of Investment Services. He is a consummate professional, dedicated contributor to the Foundation’s success, and great colleague and friend,” said Vern Henricks, President & CEO of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation. “Gary will be missed by our staff, board, fundholders, and everyone who had the privilege of working with him. We thank him for the incredible impact Gary has made to GMCF and the community and wish him a great retirement with his family and friends.”
Our mission to build relationships between donors and community needs remains stronger than ever. I am pleased to say that the asset base of GMCF has grown considerably, and we are now the largest community foundation in Kansas. We have seen significant growth in grants, scholarships, fundholders, partner community foundations, and professional financial advisors with GMCF. The team at GMCF looks forward to continuing impactful work to meet the philanthropic objectives of our fundholders and to strengthen our communities.
Again, thank you, and I wish you all the best!
Gary
