Girls on the Run of the Flint Hills - 2021
The Flint Hills Girls On the Run program empowers young girls by fostering healthy physical habits and developing social and emotional skills. In response to the global challenges faced in 2020, the program introduced a virtual component to ensure continuity. However, in 2021, as the effects of the pandemic began to subside, Girls On the Run successfully transitioned back to an in-person format. This program targets girls from the third to eighth grade, offering valuable lessons in confidence-building, strength, and the important role of exercise in promoting mental health.
The YES! Fund recognized the significance of The Flint Hills Girls On the Run program and granted funds to support its initiatives. These funds have been instrumental in providing transportation for the girls and offering scholarships to students facing financial hardships. The YES! Fund takes great pride in being a dedicated supporter of The Flint Hills Girls On the Run program, recognizing its positive impact on the lives of young girls within the community.
