True Colors Flint Hills - 2022

True Colors Flint Hills is a youth-led organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of queer and trans youth while providing them with a secure and supportive environment. In collaboration with the YES! Fund, True Colors Flint Hills received essential financial backing during its inaugural year in Manhattan. 

This funding facilitated various events and initiatives, including establishing a vegetable and herb garden utilized by the volunteer-led cooking club. Additionally, the grant contributed to organizing a youth self-care retreat, a pride event, and a celebration of True Colors Flint Hills' first anniversary. The total amount granted by the YES! Fund was $7,500, which also supported an informative session led by Representatives from the Flint Hills Human Rights Project, addressing current legislation and promoting youth advocacy.
