Posted Monday September 30, 2024
Founded in 1956, Pawnee Mental Health Services is a private, not-for-profit organization licensed by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services as a community mental health center. They provide a full range of mental health and substance use recovery services. They received a grant through Grants for Greater Manhattan for $10,000 for the Discovery Sober Living House, which can support up to four men at a time. The purpose of this house is to provide a safe place for men with co-occurring conditions and the ability to stay free of charge for several months. During the time in the house, participants attend group SUD treatment and mental health therapy sessions and learn how to live without using drugs or alcohol.
