The Deihl Community Arts Grants support public art projects that require funding exceeding $10,000, with a focus on long-term, publicly accessible displays. These grants encourage various art forms and are intended for projects that do not require ongoing support from GMCF. Recent second-quarter awards in this category include:

KSU From the Ashes Expo: $1,200

This grant will fund AGLOW Trio's project "Coping," a multimedia performance combining their original composition with a film by Dr. Michael Wesch that explores global experiences of overcoming adversity.

Tap to Togetherness: $4,720

The Tap To Togetherness Across Populations Junior's Program pairs kids aged 9-17 with tap dance mentors, fostering personal growth, skill development, and community engagement through dance.

Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art: $45,019

The grant will support reimagining exhibitions and programs to offer diverse perspectives on topics like eco-friendly burials and contemporary Indian art, deepening community engagement and understanding through art.

The grant will fund the new Manhattan Arts Center Theatrical Technician Academy, providing youth aged 13-18 with comprehensive training in theatre tech skills such as lighting, sound, and scenic design, preparing them to support various stage productions and build a pipeline of skilled technicians.

Bluemont School Sculpture: $47,200

"Seeds of the Future" is a bronze sculpture depicting children from different eras planting acorns, symbolizing the growth and evolution of Bluemont Elementary School and the nurturing of future generations.

The Deihl Community Humanities Grants, on the other hand, focus on projects that bring the humanities to life for general audiences through public programming. These grants support initiatives that explore and discuss what it means to be human, fostering connection and insight within the community. Recent second-quarter awards in this category include:
