Riley County Humane Society Endowed Fund
Mission: Improving the lives of companion animals through adoption, education, and support.
The Riley County Humane Society is a local, all-volunteer animal rescue organization that is dedicated to the welfare of pets. Our purpose is to help the homeless and owned pets and their families in the community.
RCHS’s efforts are divided between our rescue/foster/adoption program and our community assistance programs, including but not limited to an emergency pet food supply and a financial assistance program for low-income pet owners to help with basic veterinary care for their pets.
Through our rescue/foster/adoption program, RCHS saves hundreds of adoptable pets annually from needless euthanasia. These animals come from overcrowded animal shelters or as owner surrenders and are placed in foster homes throughout our community until they are adopted. All cats and dogs that enter our program are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites, and microchipped before adoption. Many pets have been abused or neglected before coming to RCHS and require substantial medical care before being adopted to new homes.
