In typical fashion, Jack was a founder of both the community foundation and the YES! Fund. He initiated an employee scholarship program that has helped hundreds, served as Chairman of the KSU Foundation, built a $4 million office building so the City could build the downtown mall, served as City Commissioner, and was a leading force for the betterment of Ft. Riley. They are strong supporters of the University and have helped many charitable causes through their charitable trusts. It was his gift of over $21 million in stock that established the Community Foundation of the Flint Hills, a supporting organization of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation. They were honored with the GMCF Lifetime Contribution Award in 2014.
