Rural Community Foundation Match
In partnership with the Kansas Association of Community Foundations (KACF), the Patterson Family Foundation opened a match grant program for community foundations in rural and micropolitan communities in Kansas and Western Missouri. In its first year (2023), funds from the grant program could be used as match funds for any 2023 match event to amplify the giving of local donors. Awards of up to $70,000 per qualifying community foundation application were available on a first-come, first-served basis.
In 2023, GMCF assisted 14 partners through the program to receive $967,446 in matching funds from the Patterson Family Foundation. With donations, local match, and the Patterson Family Foundation Match, GMCF’s partners raised a total of $4,939,372 for local rural communities in Kansas.
